WESTHILL HIGH SCHOOL
AUDITORIUM
What you need to know for auditions:
!. SINGING
All students will sing the except of “JUST ONE DAY” that is included. Please send an email to westhillmusicals@gmail.com to be included in on the rehearsal tracks that are offered so you student can practice along. We use an app called RehearScore that is available for download on smart devices. We will review the song together as a group at the auditions, but all students will be asked to sing ALONE on stage. This is not the time to be shy! Each student will be given ONE opportunity to sing it on stage.
2. ACTING
Students should be familiar with all of the lines that “FLETCHER” says in the two included scenes. These do not need to be memorized, but students should be familiar so they do not have to stare at the paper the whole time. The actors that play the other roles will be at the auditions for the students to act with. All students will read at least ONE scene, but depending on time will not read both.
NOTE: Angry Bob and Caspian are 2 puppets that Fletcher wears. We should hear different voices for each of these characters. It’s okay to be silly!
3. DANCING
There will be a short dance routine that we will teach you during the auditions. This is a chance for us to see how well you move. Don’t worry if you do not have any dance experience. We are looking for young talented performers that are comfortable moving onstage in front of people!
We look forward to seeing what you all bring, musicals are one of the greatest experiences!
